Sick of feeling like a Free Bank? Most established businesses are carrying six-figure cashflow risk — without realising
where it’s coming from.

This is about learning to identify what’s happening upstream in your business that's blocking cashflow and placing all the risk on your shoulders. It’s about getting paid faster and no longer compromising yourself or funding other people’s projects with your profit and working capital.

If you’re delivering the work but payment is delayed due to retentions, approvals, disputes or handovers — or you’re being treated like a free bank — this customised 1:1 business training & coaching session is designed for you.

Cashflow & Risk Strategic Session

A facilitated 90-minute training and coaching session focused on building capability around payment systems, credit management, and commercial decision-making — so you can reduce pressure, protect working capital, and get paid reliably.

Before changing systems or committing to larger work, we start with learning and strategy.

This 90-minute session is a customised one-on-one business training and coaching session for business owners and leaders who are delivering the work — but carrying the risk.

If you’re funding labour, materials, subcontractors, or delivery upfront — while payment arrives later (or becomes uncertain) through retentions, approvals, disputes, staged payments, or handovers — this session will help you learn to regain clarity, control and commercial confidence.

In this session, you’ll learn how to:

  • identify what’s currently creating pressure in your business (even when turnover looks strong)

  • understand what’s happening structurally — so you’re no longer guessing or patching

  • strengthen payment reliability and reduce exposure using practical, proven approaches grounded in real-world business scenarios

  • gain clarity on your smartest next move, whether that’s a deeper dive into how to refine internal systems, building capability through structured training, or progressing into deeper strategic work where appropriate

What it is

This is a customised training and coaching session focused on building capability around payment systems, credit management, and commercial decision-making — so you can strengthen how cashflow risk is handled inside your business.

You’ll learn how to identify risk earlier, improve payment reliability, and make clearer decisions about what to change next.

What it’s not

This is not hands-on implementation or a full systems rebuild.

It’s designed to give you high-quality training, insight, and practical tools — so you and your team can implement improvements internally. Some businesses apply what they learn from this session alone. Others choose to continue with further training if it makes sense.

You’ll leave feeling steadier and more in control — even if you choose to do nothing further.

You’ll leave feeling clearer, steadier, and more in control — even if you choose to do nothing further.

What you’ll receive

To ensure the session is focused and high impact, you’ll receive a structured experience before, during, and after our time together:

  • Pre-session questionnaire (short, but powerful)
A guided set of questions to capture what’s happening in your business and what matters most right now.

  • Preparation and review (completed in advance)
I review your responses ahead of time, identify key themes, and come to the session prepared so we can focus on what matters most.

  • 90-minute strategic learning session (live on Zoom)
A structured training and coaching session to explore what’s driving pressure, where risk is showing up, and how to strengthen your approach. *Note In-Person session may be available depending on location - additional costs may apply.

  • Full session recording + transcript
Video recording + transcript so you can revisit the session, share internally, and use it as reference.

  • Custom training notes + implementation guidance
Tailored notes summarising key learning points, and the practical shifts to prioritise next.

  • Clear pathway recommendations
If further development makes sense, I’ll outline options such as internal improvements, Paid Right Accelerator, or deeper structural work (where appropriate).

Why Work With Mel?

I work alongside business owners and leaders to uncover what’s really driving pressure, risk, and friction — and then put the structure in place that restores clarity, control, and confidence.

What makes working with me different:

I see what others miss.
I don’t stop at surface symptoms like slow payment or cashflow stress. I look at where risk actually enters the business — often well before an invoice is issued — and identify the decisions, gaps, and assumptions that quietly undermine otherwise strong operations.

I make it practical.
This work is grounded in real-world application. We clarify decision points, responsibilities, and cashflow triggers so changes aren’t theoretical — they’re understood, adopted, and used by the people who need to rely on them.

I focus on prevention, not recovery.
Rather than reacting to problems once they become expensive, the work is about building foresight and protection into how the business operates — so cashflow is more predictable, exposure is reduced, and fewer surprises land on your desk.

I understand the weight you’re carrying.
I’ve worked with hundreds of business owners and leaders across a wide range of industries and complexity. I know the responsibility that comes with running a business, supporting a team, and protecting what you’ve built. This work is about making business safer, clearer, and more sustainable — without adding unnecessary noise or overwhelm.

If you’re ready to move beyond patchwork fixes and build a business that works structurally, financially, and practically, we’ll start with clarity.

A facilitator-led group cohort designed to help business owners strengthen how cashflow, risk, and decision-making are handled across the business — structured guidance, proven frameworks, and the confidence that comes from working through change alongside other experienced operators.

Deeper Structural Work (By Invitation Only)

For some businesses, the Cashflow & Risk Clarity Session reveals the need for deeper structural work. Where appropriate, I work with business owners to redesign how cashflow, risk, and decision-making are structured across the business — so systems support growth instead of undermining it.

This work may include:

  • Personalised diagnostics to identify structural risk and friction points

  • Process mapping to clarify roles, decisions, and cashflow triggers

  • Implementation support to ensure systems are adopted, not ignored

  • Team engagement to embed new ways of working sustainably

Larger advisory and infrastructure engagements are only discussed after a clarity session, to ensure the work is appropriate, targeted, and commercially justified.

For now, the Cashflow & Risk Clarity Session is the correct starting point for anyone wanting personalised insight into their business.

What Read Brothers Hardware had to say about working with Mel

“We purchased the family business in 2021 and already knew Mel. When she came on board, she updated our Terms of Trade for on-account clients, ensuring everything was legally compliant, and streamlined our account application forms — which made the process significantly more efficient.

Mel has an exceptional depth of knowledge and keeps us up to date with legislative changes. She has been invaluable in credit control, and whenever we have an idea or a problem, she offers a practical solution.

She’s incredibly supportive, easy to talk to, and very attentive — and she brings a broader commercial perspective that is genuinely valuable. Mel is detail-oriented, highly effective, extremely knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.”
